About us:
Transmissions Theatre creates transcendently bizarre stories that span worlds from the microscopic to the cosmic
in epic narratives that feature strong, interesting female characters. Their productions rest on foundations of cardboard and chicken-wire,
wholeheartedly embracing a dark, humorous and quirky aesthetic that incorporates puppetry, animation and live music.
They have created three original pieces for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival:
Rails in 2009, Water Bears in Space in 2011 and Iminami in 2012.
Along with their one-woman puppet show, Jug-Baby: An Autobiography,
produced as part of the 2013 SoLow Fest and 2014 New Orleans Fringe Festival
Their productions have been hailed as:
“Pure Genius” – Philadelphia Weekly ,
“Utterly, transcendently bizarre” – Philadelphia City Paper “,
"…maybe not the weirdest Live Arts/Fringe show I've seen, but it's definitely top 3. Even better, it's a blast" – Philadelphia Inquirer
